Malin Uhlén, b. 1989 Karlstad, Sweden
Lives and works in Gothenburg.

I am a ceramic artist working with imperfection by exposing clay to stress and instability. I throw, tear, crush and break it, let it crack, warp and collapse, and keep the effects of its flaws. My work is inspired by slow changes in movement, where particles are gradually combined, fragmented and reassembled. Through clay, I explore the duality of growth and decay, and how defects can function as strength.
